Pet birds need time out of the cage, check out our bird play stands

It is very important to allow your bird time out of the cage. It is not always convenient to have them sat on your shoulder where they quickly become bored or aggressive. Ideally birds need at least 4 hours per day out of the cage to exercise their wings.

Scarletts offers you the best value bird stands in the UK. Metal play stands with ladders and bowls give your bird a perching area with the opportunity to hang toys and provide fresh food and water. These are easy to wipe clean and most have a pull out grill and tray.

Our selection of java trees are our best selling parrot stands. We are one of the only UK companies where you can choose your own java tree. Each tree is unique and you need the branch layout to suit your bird. Java wood is sustainably sourced and these natural coffee trees make great playstands. We usually have over 100 in stock at any time to choose from. Our largest java trees make great stands for Greenwing Macaws, Blue and Gold Macaws and large Cockatoos.

The medium Java trees are best suited to Timneh African Greys, Congo African Greys, Yellow Naped Amazons, Blue Headed Pionus, Large Parakeets and Medium Sulphur Crested Cockatoos.

The Java Midi trees have thinner branches and whilst some are suited to African Greys they are better suited to smaller bird species such as Cockatiels, Conures, Quakers, Senegals and Caiques.

The smaller table top mini java tree bird stands are great for placing on a table, and are easy to move around the house to allow your bird access to different rooms. Java trees have hooks on for toys and the full sized java trees can easily be wheeled around the house. Java wood is heat treated, making it especially strong, standing up to your bird's beaks and chewing better than any other wood.

We have available some lightweight stands which are good to train birds on and if you don't have much space in the house or your bird is cage territorial; this gives you the opportunity to place the bird in another room away from the cage and work with him or her.

Multiple pet birds can share one play area. It is important to give them enough space so that they do not fight, however bonded birds may fret if you do not purchase a playstand big enough for them both to share as they do not like to be separated.

Often birds feel safest at the highest point on a play stand, this can be difficult when you want to reach them and put them back in their cage. Our java trees are a perfect height play stand to avoid dominance in birds and allow you to easily get your bird to step up and move back to the cage.
